To My Man:
I am spending my life with you.
To spend means: to pay out, disburse, or expend; dispose of (money, wealth, resources, etc.)
That means I am giving up something to have you. That means you are valuable. If I am spending, that means there is a price to pay. I want to purchase you with my time, energy and love. I wouldn’t want to pay for you any other way.
Everything has opportunity cost. You have to give up something to do something else. Writing this blog, I am giving up sleep. When I need to do my homework, I am giving up the time I would have had to write a song.
I think time is our biggest currency. We pay for a lot of things with time. Sometimes it’s worth it, and sometimes it’s not. I wish I could take all the time I spent in classes over the years and trade it for time spent writing songs or practicing an instrument. Time is so precious and we can’t get it back, so we have to make sure that we spend it wisely.
It’s funny how the two things we talk about “spending” the most are time and money. One is tangible and one is intangible. They are both valuable and you can’t get them back once they’re gone.
Everything comes with a price, but spending my life with you is worth any price. I would spend countless time and money on you. You are worth everything. You have the highest value, the highest price, and I’ll pay whatever it takes to keep you in my life.
